Sing with Pride are kicking off the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia celebrations with a \u201cGroove is in the Heart\u201d singing workshop with acclaimed \u2018choral activist\u2019 Kirsty Martin from Brighton. Come and sing original bluesy tunes, wondrous world harmony and smoky soulful arrangements of great songs \u2013 songs of passion, protest and celebration! It\u2019s on Saturday 9th May from 10-3pm at the Friends Meeting House, Upper Goat Lane. Cost \u00a320\/\u00a315. Please bring lunch to share and we\u2019ll provide drinks and homemade cake. Kirsty describes herself as a \u2018choral activist\u2019 and is well known throughout the UK for her spine tingling harmonies and sublime choral compositions, as well as her energising, radical approach to teaching and facilitating workshops. Founding Musical Director for the gloriously notorious Hullabaloo Community Quire in Brighton, and co MD for Raise the Roof Community Choir based in South London, and co-director for GLOW choir (Gay Lesbian Or Whatever) Kirsty is a founding mover and shaker of the Natural Voice Practitioner\u2019s Network and a regular teacher at Laurieston Hall, Unicorn Voice Camp and the National Street Choirs Festival, to name a few!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
